Envizen Digital Duo Box Pro (ED8850A)

Wonderful little gadget, if a bit outdated.

The Envision Digital Duo Box ED6850A (horrible name!) is a great little personal TV/DVD/CD player for travelers and kids. It comes complete with case (which can be used as a seatback mount or carrying case), an antennae, charger/AC adapter, USB port, 3 in 1 card reader, remote, car adapter, A/V cable and an adapter for cable TV. Given that broadcast TV is not always available and many areas no longer broadcast TV signals, this adapter is very useful - don't lose it. Set up instructions are complete and clear. Even my six year old daughter has no problems with it.
The 7 inch screen is more than adequate for personal use at moderate distances - say 2.5 feet, maybe 3 feet. Perfect for two little girls in the back seat of the average car. The picture is clear and bright. Sound is good, but remember this is a small unit and there simply isn't room for a massive speaker.
After six months bouncing around in a school bag and getting lost at the bottom of a toybox, the unit still looks good and plays well. I think that says a lot about the quality. At around $200, it can't be beat.
