iPod to Kenwood Auxiliary Adapter

Well built. Great value

Pretty much plug and play. Used daily. Way superior sound quality over tape deck adapters plus it keeps the Ipod battery charged.

Works as expected

Plugged right into the CD changer port in the back of the Kenwood head unit. Sound quality is great, and it charges the Ipod. I originally had the Ipod hooked through a headphone jack into the Aux port, so the charging is big improvement, and not having to raise the Ipod volume to full each time I enter the car is a plus (as well as not having to turn it down when I am not in the car).

Although this doesn't read out the artist / track title on the head unit like other similar connections, this allows you to retain control of the Ipod when plugged in, making it much easier to cycle through playlists and large lists of artists, which is the reason I picked this over other similar cables.

Only complaint is that I wish the cable was just a foot longer so it could be placed comfortable in the lap while driving.

Good Product but didnt work with my unit

I bought this for my extra car so I could use my iPod classic on the way to work. It charged my iPod but my Kenwood reciver didnt recognize it was attached and wouldnt play. I think it wasnt compatable with my unit the $40 cable from Kenwood worked great.

Not what i hoped for....

This item would be ideal if it was compatible with all Kenwood and iPods products. This cord does not work with the iPod touch series and the specific Kenwood Model KDC-X579. The Headunit will not recognize that anything is plugged into the system and the ipod touch
will display a message saying that charging is not compatible with the product.

Does what it's supposed to do but...

This cable works, does what it was made to do... But it was made very poorly. I have bought 2 of these over the last 2 years because 1 year is about how long it lasts. After a year any movement on the cable creates a loud static feedback noise coming from the speakers. The cables short out at the base of the ipod connector end.

Excellent product

The product does exactly what I wanted it to do. It connects my iPod to my Kenwood car radio, through the multiCD connector. Since it also charges my iPod I really like the product.

IPOD cable for Kenwood Car Stereo (Hyundai)

Cable works fine - Hyundai Kenwood Radio - had to unplug XM input on Kenwood radio in order to use this cable, to play my iPod Touch through my car stereo. Cable works fine so far, other than one end of the jack that started to get stuck in the iPod input, and that end of the jack needed to be filed down, so it won't get stuck in the iPod .

Easy to hookup, however intermittent on device recognition

The cord itself was easy to hookup to the back of my stereo and it appears to universally fit various IPODs I've attached to it (Nano, Touch). However, it rarely recognizes the device each time I plug it in. I have to take the cord out of the back of the stereo, turn the stereo on/off, plug/unplug the cord into the IPOD until it finally recognizes. I have yet to figure out the right combination to get it to recognize immediately. Also, it charges on the Touch but doesn't charge on the Nano.

Good cable - only works with older IPODS

Purchased cable for 1st Gen IPOD Touch - allows me to play my IPOD through Kenwood (Hyundai) Radio... and sounds GREAT. Also charges this Ipod (this cable).

The PROBLEM (not with the cable) is that I just treated myself to a 3rd Gen. Ipod Touch (64 GB), and this Ipod does not work with the cable (does not play through Kenwood Stereo, and does not charge. I did not know this until after purchasing the new Ipod (this one only plays and charges through USB port).

Ipod Cable

Works great. It charges your ipod and directly connects it to your deck. I have had no problems. The only downer is you use the ipod to choose the songs its not interfaced with the deck.
