Metra Escort Face Plate
I was a little worried, reading all the horror stories about switching to these Escort face plates. However, everything went step by step pretty smoothly. If you are mechanically inclined and have experience installing car audio, everything should be OK. The hardest part was getting the temperature control to line back up while connecting it to the new plate. Make sure to note the position of the dial before removing the original face plate (or just keep it on the coldest setting- that way you'll know it's position later). The new plate fits snug and tight, but isn't actually latched. I may need to file it down later, but I don't think it'll come out.
Lastly, shame on Ford for creating the worst designed car stereo/ climate control system in history.

If you have to replace your stock stereo this is the only way you can, but the unit does not fit exactly so you must file it in several places and in the end it still will not latch in properly, it works just not as well as i would like it too for the money it should fit properly, all in all I would recommend it cuz there is nothing else you can do
