What Focal is made ofSo what is it that makes the Focal 165KRX speakers sound so good? Well, the answer is what sets Focal apart from any other brand out there. First off, they use high end materials that are made specifically for better sound. The cone woofer is a thermoformed, structural foam central core, coated with an Aramid fiber layer on the front side and a glass layer on the back side. That "hi-tech" cone results in a woofer that is impressively rigid, lightweight, and distortion free, even at high output levels. The Tweeter is a TN53K inverted dome tweeter. The double-magnet creates a "push-pull" affect that becomes extremely important for the magnetic flux in the air gap. If that didn't make sense, all you have to really worry about is this: Focal uses advanced materials and technology to make a speaker that is unmatched in quality and sound. These speakers will sound unlike anything else you have heard!
The crossovers included in the K2 Power series component speakers are of top quality. They are made with industry leading components that will be appreciated by anyone lucky enough to be within an ear-shot of these speakers. The crossovers also feature a tweeter level control for optimal control and mid woofer matching of the tweeters. fantastic
paired with modest (but still high-quality) JL HD-series amp, these sound amazing! Unlike some Focal's I've heard in the past, the tweeters are very smooth & relaxed sounding, the woofers deep but tight bass while the mids do wonders for vocals or anything else that flows through them.
