NVX N-Series Complete Speaker Upgrade Kit for 1995-1999 Toyota Avalon

Impressive

I had to replace my cheap, blown out dash speakers in my 88 Toyota pickup. Impressed with the highs and the lows. Had them tweeked with the pioneer head unit until my ears started to feel uncomfortable at times. Really clear sound with these loud little bangers.

More Greatness!!

I replaced my P132's with these and am overjoyed with my purchase! They're cleaner, louder and have a surprising amount of bass! The install was a breeze thanks to my NVX Sound Deadener! Sealed so lovely! My dash is happy now and my volume knob is excited to be able to be turned further than before!! LOL! NVX... Second to None!

Great performance

Great amp, I love the size that it comes in so it fits easy almost anywhere. I love the two terminal feature. As long as you have it wired correctly, it barley heats up. Another positive is the connector it comes for lower gauge wire

Seriously clear and loud

NVX is my new brand of choice. I recommend these to people looking for An amazing musical experience. I've ran them off a factory radio, Kenwood decks and amplified them with h 50 W RMS and they impressed me with every setup. For the price NVX is untouchable.

These have so far been great speakers, although I didn't install them to perform as well as they would otherwise. If I remember right; the specs on these for freq. response and power handling were the best in this size and at this price point. Very satisfied.

Budget price, remarkable quality

I purchased these 4" NVX coaxials to replace a pair of worn and rotting 14 year old Rockford Fosgates.

My first impression is that these are phenomenal little speakers. After about a week of breaking them in, the sound is smooth, balanced and detailed; just ever so slightly on the warm side of neutral. Their reproduction feels effortless by comparison to the Rockfords they replaced.

The highs are pleasant and rich without being overwhelming; very natural and present.

The mids are about as much as you could ask for, matching the highs well in both timbre and volume. The detail and neutrality carries through with vocals and instruments alike.

As for bass, there's not much to speak of. I'd call it "better than most" in the 4" class, but don't expect miracles. I have them running on a high-pass filter off the head unit @ 80hz. I've found they have a bit more presence crossed over @ 63hz, but they lose detail as a result.

This review is based on the unit as-shipped and unmodified, but if you're into modding, replace the electrolytic capacitors with a high-quality metalized polypropylene unit. I adjusted the crossover frequency on mine using a 6.8uF cap (the factory unit is a 3.3uF electrolytic), and the difference is phenomenal!

Speakers are installed in the dash of a 1997 Volkswagen Passat, running off a Pioneer head unit, which provides an 80hz digital high-pass crossover. EQ is was flat, with loudness and Sound Retriever disabled.

Excellent speakers for the price

Good sound quality. Installed both speakers in my 1993 Toyota Tercel in less than an hour. They replace one blown speaker and another one that had a fault base. The old spacers were dry rotted.
