The hideaway receiver module connects directly to your vessel's NMEA 2000® network and is programmable, with the ability to add additional (up to twenty) MMR-11W-Remote transmitters (sold separately).
Both transmitter and receiver module are constructed using UV and salt-water rated materials and built to withstand the outdoor elements. Product works well but...
The remote works well once installed but the install wasn't as smooth as I'd hoped. First off there are 2 version of the wireless remote, one that connects directly to the radio (in my case the MM100s BE) and one that connects to a NMEA 2K network. I was expecting the former but received the latter, that may have been my fault when ordering but when I tried to get it swapped, I was told that was all they had unless I wanted a wired remote, which I didn't. So, after checking with JL Audio, who also didn't have the direct connect version; apparently, it's discontinued, I spent another $80 or so to build a minimal NMEA 2K network just for the MM100S and the MMR 11W 2K to connect to. I used the Ancor starter kit from Amazon, link below. The install of the network and receiver was quite straightforward but after all that the remote did nothing! Very disappointing. The instructions stated that the remote transmitter was already paired with the receiver, it wasn't. The pairing process was very simple and worked first time and now I'm a happy camper, the remote works as advertised but around $300 for a wireless remote all said and done is a bit steep.
