The Kenwood DMX8709S is a high-performance 6.8" digital multimedia receiver that strikes a perfect balance between advanced smartphone integration and powerful audio expandability. While it sits just below the flagship eXcelon DMX908S, it remains a heavy-hitter in the lineup, offering wireless Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and a high-voltage preamp section that far exceeds entry-level head units.
A key advantage of the DMX8709S is its 4.0V Gold-Plated Pre-outs. While not quite the 5V found on the 908S, a 4V signal is the industry standard for high-fidelity systems, providing enough "clean" voltage to drive aftermarket amplifiers with minimal noise floor. It also features a short chassis design (less than 3 inches deep), making it the "go-to" solution for modern vehicles with crowded dashboards where space is at a premium.

I purchased this Kenwood for the great sound quality they produce and for the wireless CarPlay and HDMI
Cons- you have to purchase the KCA-HD200 separately in order to get the micro HDMI to work. Others won’t work due to the outer casing being to big

I got this for my 2010 Camaro and I love it! Apple CarPlay works perfectly. Very easy to figure out. Only thing that could be better is that their is a slight lag when going through the menu on the radio, but other then that very solid.
