The Kenwood eXcelon DMX809S is a 6.75" digital multimedia receiver that represents the high-value entry point into the "Audiophile" tier of the eXcelon series. It bridges the gap between the mid-range DMX8709S and the flagship DMX908S, offering the elite 5.0V High Voltage Pre-outs—a feature typically reserved for the highest-end head units—while maintaining a more accessible price point.

The DMX809S is a "mechless" (no CD/DVD) receiver, which allows for a Short Chassis design with a mounting depth of only 2-15/16" (75mm). This makes it an ideal choice for vehicles with complex dash interiors where depth is limited. Like other eXcelon models, it features internal sound parts (capacitors and shielding) specifically selected for better signal clarity.
