Why should I choose a sealed enclosure like the NE101S over its ported counterpart (NE101P)?

NE101S is better for audiophiles who want a tight but not forceful bass. Like other sealed enclosures, NE101S is quite smaller so it would save some space in your car. However, if you really want an earth-shattering low-end, go ahead with NE101P instead.

Will a high-excursion 10" sub with a massive magnet hit the back panel of NE101S?

Most likely not. For example, the NE101S has a generous mounting depth of up to nearly 14 inches. That’s enough clearance for even the beefiest competition-grade magnets to breathe without slamming against the rear wall.

How much space do I need to mount NE101S?

You only need about a square foot of floor space. It provides 0.65 cubic feet internally. It’s a great fit for a Toyota Camry or Accord trunk, giving you accurate bass without taking up all your cargo room.

Can I add more Polyfill to the NE101S?

We don't recommend. NVX includes just enough to help the box act about 15-20% larger sound-wise. Adding too much can actually choke the sub's movement. Only add more if your sub's specs significantly exceed the box's actual internal volume.

What’s with the choice to build NE101S with rounded corners?

It’s for durability and fitment. Sharp MDF corners under carpet are prone to bruising or chipping during installation. Rounded edges prevent the carpet from tearing and make it much easier to slide the box into tight trunk gaps.

Great Boxes

The following review is for a previous version (XMDFS101).

I used these sub boxes to make custom installation boxes for my ram pickup, not much room behind my seats so they were great to work with, the boxes were good quality materials and it made it possible to install 2 ct meso 10 inch subs in my truck.

The 10in sub box is really well constructed. The 10in hole was the right size for my MTX THUNDER SUB,which I can't say for the other box I ordered from some where else.Very happy with the size and construction.

Solid enclosure!

Box is very well made. It has internal bracing, and includes polyfill that’s already glued to the internal panels. The enclosure is air tight as well, no air leaks whatsoever.
