Bringing an Auxiliary Input to the Car
Upgrading to quality aftermarket sound doesn't have to be expensive. Take the Kenwood KDC-148 as an example of an excellent car stereo with advanced technologies and a low price tag. While the receiver will play standard CDs and tune into the standard AM/FM radio stations, the main additional convenient feature is a front auxiliary input. This allows other media devices to be connected to the car stereo and the audio can be played through the car speakers. This is a great solution for those that want to be able to connect a portable media devices such as an iPod, iPhone, Microsoft Zune, or any other device with an 3.5mm audio output jack.
On the back of the unit you will find 1 set of pre-amp outputs. These RCA connection are used to connect an aftermarket amplifier and power a subwoofer. Inside the unit Kenwood has integrated technology such as the System Q Equalizer, Low Pass Filters (LPF), Bass Boost, and other musical adjustments. The kenwood kdc 148 is a nice deal from kenwood for a great features deck, looks great, well lit, fairly easy controls, lots of clean power, easy to read digital screen, over all, i'd rate it at a 8.0 out of 10.0, kenwood quality, at a fair price!! only wish it had a feature to hold liked modes when the power is shut off, one has to reset the liked modes again, when power is shut off totally, which is a real hassle for us, since it's mounted in a house boat, which gets all power shut down when not in use, but for the average auto user, this would normally not be a problem.. good deal buy it!!

Great Value Radio
I installed this in my parents Jeep Wrangler and it fit great. Even with teh factory speakers, the Wrangler finally had a little bump in the speakers. Very nice radio for $80 and it has helped me continue my loyalty to Kenwood. I've never had one issue and have installed 5 H/U's for friends and family and they have all been content with them.

Great product from Kenwood
It took me roughly an hour and a half to install this into a 2004 honda civic. It is a good looking unit from the exterior and doesn't feel cheap like my jvc.
Sound Quality: This thing makes my speakers sound great, and I have 2 sony 6.5's in back and 2 stocks in front. The equalizer is what makes the difference. I really don't have any complaints with this, but I haven't tried the rca outs on my sub amplifier so until then this is a great unit for the price.
