These speakers are specially designed with true 4ohm technology. The impedance of these speakers are 3ohms, but when you pair them with thin factory wiring, the impedance will naturally rise up to a true 4ohms resulting in a maximum amount of power draw from your 4ohm rated factory receiver, aftermarket deck, or external amplifier. What it comes down to is efficiency. If you need a speaker that will get the most out of your current sound system, the Reference X series is for you.
Each of the Reference X speakers features plus one woofer cone technology. This means the cone has been designed to be slightly larger than comparable speakers, giving you even more output on the same amount of power. This drastically increases the efficiency of the speaker, and also extends the frequency response even lower to give you that nice thump you’ve been looking for.

Great speakers
I had been using the 3.5" infinitys on my motorcycle, but upgraded to the four inch. These speaker are driven by a zune MP3 player and a 300 watt nvx amp. The sound is awesome.

i have this in all 4 doors of my lexus on my stock amp and my kenwood deck and it keeps up with my 15" sub i have on 780 rms. im wanting to mod my front doors and put the 5.25" version in and re-use my 4" i have now in a custom spot under my dash.

These speakers are incredible for their size! They are super loud and decent bass again for their size! I have mine powered off the deck but would really like to see how they perform with an amp!! Great purchase if it's the size you need
