Installed in my nissan versa with intellikey
I just finished installing this into my Nissan Versa with intellikey. I haven't done any work on my car before and as such made sure I had a 4 day weekend to do the install. I overestimated and was able to get it done in about one day's time. The manual is fairly clear with the exception that the bypass unit (MDB ALL) indicated that the Ground and Neutral wiring from the unit isn't needed if you use D2D mode. This is incorrect. Other than that everything works well and the range is easily a mile.
Excalibur's technical support is excellent. Phone support was right there for me Monday morning to troubleshoot my last connections and get me running. Sonic Electronix on the other hand left me wanting a bit. When I originally got the MDB ALL it wasn't programmed. This resulted in me mailing back the unit and having to wait a while until I had another free weekend. On top of that the support staff gave me the number for Metra installation support (Metra makes stereo equipment, not remote starters). Sorry Sonic, you dropped the ball.
With this type of install if you are someone who has done electrical work on your vehicle or you have done highly detailed electrical work of any sort this is something you can tackle. If you've never worked with electrical systems before and are not familiar with soldering, wire tying, heat shrink, or electronics in general you probably should just head to a pro.
