MTX Audio XThunder 600XD

No doubt about this amp!

Purchased this amp and have it hooked up to a MTX JH4512x2 enclosure and this thing kicks! Rated at RMS 600w@ 2 ohms and 1200w max, but the certificate it came with has it at 657w@ 2ohms and 1308w max. Kicks so hard that it makes my drivers side seat rumble. Also, thanks to the Sonic support staff for all there help. Would definitely recommend this amp and Sonic to anyone! Do not go anywhere else. THANKS AGAIN Sonic!!!!!

Clean Power

I have this amp hooked up to a power acoustik fubar and this thing pushes this sub to the max. i bought this amp at a local stereo shop and it was expensive but here in SE its a steal.

Amazing Amplifier!

This amplifier is absolutely insane! i have two 10 inch rockford fosgates punch's wired to the amp and for 10's they slam ridiculously! one of my friends has two 12's and they go harder so much harder than his subs. my parents said they could hear me coming home a full minute before i even got near my house. i would 100% recommend this amp to anyone! for the price it is crazy how much power it can push.

MTX the MONSTER

this amp is a powerhouse...MTX has always been a top performer in car audio, and they are only getting better. Especially now since they bought out rockford fosgate engineers..that is why the new thunder series amp are so much smaller than previous styles. This is the new Rocford Fosgate. I currently have this amp, and i must say that is a monster. I used to have a 1200watt boss amp but switched ecause it was going into protection mode too fast and wasn't giving me the power I needed. I have it hooked up to 2 10" shallow mount pioneers. Before they were barely being pushed now they sound like they are about to blow. This is an amp that is made to pound. Big sounds only

little amp, big power!!

I recently purchased this amp from Sonic Electronix to replace a 600XD I bought used on ebay that ended up being doa. I was looking forward to using this amp to pair it up with the MTX Audio Jackhammer JH5512X2D loaded enclosure also purchased from SE. The amp is rated at 325W rms @ 4ohms and 600W rms @ 2ohms. The birth certificate that came with the amp measured 477W @4 ohms and 697W @ 2 ohms with a peak output of 1394W @ 2 ohms!! The Jackhammer 12's come wired at 2 ohms with a rms of 800W @ 4ohms and 1600W peak @ 2ohms. Let me just say this thing is awesome!! I have the gain set to around 1/2 and the bass boost a little less than half with the head unit (kenwood Xcelon KDC-X792) subwoofer control set to +3 on a range of -15/+15. These subs and amp are a perfect match and they pound like crazy!! Especially the really low frequencies. Buy this amp, you will not be disappointed!! I have always been partial to MTX and here is two more reasons why. For just a little over $500 you get 2 great 12's in a vented enclosure and a 1400W peak class d sub amp, what more can one say?

small amp BIg POwer

I bought it from here, i installed it to power my 2 10" solobaric L5.
Total rms is 900 at 4ohms and it pounds hard that my friends could here it 3 blocks away..I was so pleased with this amp.

Good power for subwoofers

The 600xd amp is the perfect value and match with the MTX 5500 subwoofers.

I used to own this amp, but sold it to a friend for him to use for 2 5500 subs that he bought.

The bass control knob can be mounted by your CD deck for a convenient function of just turning a knob rather than messing with your after-market deck.

600 watts rms into 2 ohms? This amp has got some bang for it's buck. Not to mention it is a 1200 watt max amplifier, which would probably end up being a little bit more because MTX underrates their amps.

At the price listed here, it is a STEAL. Good luck finding it anywhere else for cheaper.

Still kicking in March 2025

I got this amp from a old coworker when I use to work at a Honda dealership when I was 18-19 years old. I'm now 33 and it's still my go to amp it been in several cars over the years and hasn't let me down once. MTX is nothing but quality!
