The Infinity Reference 622MW is a "fully marinized" 6.5" speaker system designed to deliver high-fidelity sound in harsh outdoor environments. Part of the Reference Marine series, these speakers are engineered to cut through wind, engine noise, and waves while resisting the damaging effects of salt, UV rays, and water.
The 622MW features a bridge-mounted tweeter design. By mounting the tweeter to the grille rather than through the center of the woofer, Infinity is able to keep the woofer cone completely sealed, preventing water and salt from reaching the internal motor structure. It also utilizes Plus One woofer cones, which offer more surface area than standard 6.5" speakers, resulting in higher sensitivity and better mid-bass "thump."
