What’s so special about NVX’s Y-Series subwoofers?

NVX Y-Series subwoofers are built with precision, offering a blend of sound quality, power, and durability. These sit between NVX’s mid-level and high-level subwoofers, making these ideal for those moving from a basic setup to a real power build.

Is the enhanced pressed paper cone better for sound quality and performance?

Audiophiles love paper for its natural, warm tone. NVX upgraded it to be stiffer and moisture-resistant, so it doesn't warp in a car door. You get the classic sound of paper with the durability of a high-tech composite.

My trunk is small, but I want a 12" subwoofer. How do I make this work with the YSW122?

The YSW122 is a space-saver. It only needs 0.75 cu. ft. in a sealed box. That’s smaller than many 10-inch sub requirements. You get the deep-bass benefits of a 12" cone without sacrificing your entire trunk.

Should I buy a prefabricated box or build my own?

A custom box is always better, but this sub fits most 12" pre-fab boxes (11.14" cutout). Just make sure the box is made of 3/4" MDF. If the wood is thin, the weight of this sub will literally vibrate the box apart.

Can the YSW122 be used with a factory amplifier to save money?

We don't recommend it. A factory amplifier is a mere toy compared to this 800W monster. It won't have the current to power it, resulting in a clipped signal that could damage the sub. Pairing YSW122 to NVX's line of amplifiers is the way to go.
