NVX Y-Series subwoofers are built with precision, offering a blend of sound quality, power, and durability. These sit between NVX’s mid-level and high-level subwoofers, making these ideal for those moving from a basic setup to a real power build.

Is the enhanced pressed paper cone better for sound quality and performance?

Audiophiles love paper for its natural, warm tone. NVX upgraded it to be stiffer and moisture-resistant, so it doesn't warp in a car door. You get the classic sound of paper with the durability of a high-tech composite.

My trunk is small, but I want a 12" subwoofer. How do I make this work with the YSW124?

The YSW124 is a space-saver. It only needs 0.75 cu. ft. in a sealed box. That’s smaller than many 10-inch sub requirements. You get the deep-bass benefits of a 12" cone without sacrificing your entire trunk.

Can I run this in a "Free Air" or "Infinite Baffle" setup?

Not recommended. With a Qts of 0.53, it needs the "air spring" of a box to stay under control. Without a box, you’ll likely bottom out the sub and damage the suspension. Give it an enclosure. It'll thank you with better bass.

Can the YSW124 be used with a factory amplifier to save money?

We don't recommend it. A factory amplifier is a mere toy compared to this 800W monster. It won't have the current to power it, resulting in a clipped signal that could damage the sub. Pairing YSW124 to NVX's line of amplifiers is the way to go.
