Are these speakers safe to use for the outdoors?

Yes. XFHD6F is built with UV-resistant rubber surrounds and with a sealed waterproof voice coil to ensure that it would work with your Harley while on the road.

Is the installation going to involve cutting into my Tour-Pak pods?

No. These are a direct fit, plug-and-play upgrade for 2014-up Harley Touring models. They bolt directly into the factory rear pods using the original mounting holes, so you can upgrade your audio without any permanent modifications to your bike's luggage

Does the XFHD6F come with speaker grilles? Can I still use my factory speaker grilles with this?

Yes, XFHD6F includes speaker grilles for a sleeker look. However, you could also use your existing fairing grilles to maintain the original look of your motorcycle fairing.

Can I use the XFHD6R as front fairing speakers for my motorcycle?

The speaker itself is designed for fairing and Tour Pak pods because of its size, but NVX built the XFHD6R with specific brackets and trims to fit in Tour Pak pods rather than fairings.

I have a high-wattage motorcycle amplifier. Can these speakers handle the heat?

Yes, as long as it is wired at 2-ohms. These feature 1.25" high-temperature voice coils and vented magnet cooling. This ensures they don't fade or distort during long, loud rides in the middle of summer.
