What makes V-Series Micro (VADM) amplifiers different from V-Series (VAD) amps?

NVX V-Series and V-Series Micro amplifiers are similarly designed for car, marine and powersports applications. However, as the name suggests, V-Series Micro amps are powerful and compact, addressing space limits without compromising efficiency.

Why pick V-Series micro amplifiers compared to standard-sized amps?

V-Series Micro amplifiers are already packed with huge power, but these are also built with a chassis that fits tight spaces. It’s for enthusiasts who refuses to compromise on bass just because space is tight.

Will the VADM5v2 survive a rainstorm on my ATV?

The conformal-coated PCB of the VADM5v2 helps in resisting moisture. It’s the rugged solution for any open-air vehicle that faces rain, mud, or high humidity. What it does not do is survive while submerged under water.

How do I integrate the VADM5v2 into my factory Jeep dash?

Use the high-level inputs for OEM integration. It will tap into your factory wires, so you don't have to ditch your factory setup fully.

Will the VADM5v2 get too hot behind a dashboard?

Not at all. NVX has the safety in mind when creating these V-Series amplifiers. Their conformal-coated PCB circuitry is marine-graded and resists vibration and extreme temperatures, so you don't have to worry about it getting much heat.

I noticed VADM5v2's terminals are open and exposed. How is this marine then?

Don't worry about it. VADM5v2 is designed with platinum-plated terminals that resist corrosion. This ensures your power connections don't pit or fail over time like cheap gold-plated ones.

Can I run a 3-way active setup with a subwoofer using the VADM5v2?

Absolutely. Use channels 1-2 for the tweeters, 3-4 for the midrange drivers, and channel 5 for the subwoofer. This would cover all major frequencies for clear sound quality with booming bass notes.

Can I use a thicker gauge wire than the 8-gauge wire recommended for the VADM5v2?

Absolutely. In fact, it's safer to use a thicker wire than something lower than 8-gauge that could melt the wire in high temperatures. However, you might need a wire reducer for that. Shop Sonic Electronix's wire reducers now.

How do I stop engine noise and distortion from the amplifier?

NVX already has you covered, as VADM5v2 already has balanced-differential inputs. They reject the electrical interference from your engine or stator, ensuring your bass is pure and silent between tracks.

Why are the RCA jacks bolted to VADM5v2's chassis?

To prevent vibration failure. In a UTV or bike, bumps are constant. These jacks prevent the loose connection problem common in cheap, poorly-built micro amps.

Nice small amp for a good price.

I have a 2014 Honda Ridgeline that has a factory subwoofer. I replaced the head unit and I bought this to be able to retain the subwoofer. I ended up amplifying all 5 channels of stock speakers than just doing the sub. That way if one blows, I will just replace them all.

The amp itself is very compact and feels sturdy. The picture is it mounted under the drivers seat. I slid a small piece of underlayment under the carpet and screwed it to that. This makes the amp nice and solid without needing to screw into the unibody of the vehicle.

The sound is excellent and clean compared to what the factory head unit produced. Because I paired this to factory speakers, I kept the gain down low and set crossovers to my liking. I set the sub gain at about 25% and added around 15% boost. This had the best balance of sound and bass when swithing between radio and Android auto. Overall, the amp was easy to tune and their is ample room to add better speakers down the road. The sub knob is a great addition to adjust on the fly, although it feels and looks kind of cheap. I guess that is fair at this price point.

The only reason for the knock on durability is because the first unit I received had a bad sub output.... intermittent sound. Sonic allowed me to buy a new one and return for a refund so I didn't need to go without a stereo for a week or two. Their shipping is fast and they are an A+ company to deal with.

Hunter is one of their techs and he helped me isolate the problem. He was patient and knew what to do immediately. Having a resource like that makes buying from Sonic Electronix a no brainer.
