The Belva BXA5002 is categorized as a Class A/B amplifier. This class of amplifiers combine the high efficiency of a class A amplifier and lower distortion found in class B amplifiers. The class AB amplifier acts more similarly to a class A amplifier by biasing both transistors so they become active when the signal is close to zero. As the signal excursion increases into a larger waveform, only one transistor remains active, a primary function found in class B amplifiers. These features combined with the MOSFET transistor allow the Belva BXA5002 to be one of the most efficient amplifiers on the market. The BXA5002 also features three-way protection circuitry which protects against thermal, overload, and speaker shortages. This configuration increases the longevity of both the amplifier and entire speaker system.
The Belva BXA5002 provides a world-class user control experience. While other amplifiers on the market only feature a variable bass boost switch, the BXA5002 is equipped with a variable bass boost knob. This allows the user to fine tune the bass and gain in the amplifiers with more precision. Furthermore, the range provided in the BXA5002’s variable bass boost is anywhere from 0 to 18 decibels, whereas in other amplifiers in the same class, the range is only 0 to 12 decibels.
The Belva BXA5002 features both high level and low level speaker inputs. The high level inputs allow the amplifier to be wired into factory stereos or an aftermarket stereo without low level RCA inputs. The BXA5002 amplifier can also be wired into aftermarket stereos. Equipped with low level speaker inputs, the complicated process of splicing the wire into the stereo can be bypassed by connecting to the RCA inputs which are commonly found in aftermarket stereos. The input flexibility of the BXA5002 means the amplifier is more compatible with a variety of stereos from factory to high-end aftermarket units.
