Definitely impressed
So I have a 2020 Tacoma crew cab(aka 4 door) and we have a very limited space behind the back seat. I have ran a few different combos back there and finally found the perfect blend for daily driving. This my opinion. Now we won't get super low earth shaking sound in that little space. But what we get is very good clean and loud bass. I cheated and used a Rockville 12" prefab taco box. Nothing special. Just made sure to recheck the inside for leaks and all seams sealed. Decided on these ds18 12s due to limited mounting depth and required air spaces. Was about to do shallow mounts..but wanted to find a fullsize subwoofer that fit the air space of the box. I believe the ds18 12 gen x could also fit that space..but these required less power and I already had my subwoofer amp. I run a skar 800.1 on these two. Nothing insane. These 12s get down for a sealed box and shake the truck with authority. It surprises everyone that has heard it so far. Stays clean as sealed bass does. Definitely not loose like ported boxes tend to be, but sounds very crisp and strong. Fits small space. And doesn't hurt the wallet at all. Could there be better combos out there?...of course. But I am a Tacoma guy and wanted to share what has worked very well for myself. Looked around for best pricing and my search kept coming back to sonic. I have used them for over 10 years...yes. 10 real years and haven't had any issues with returns and new stuff. So got my ds18 here and sonic doesn't disappoint. Very happy with my purchase for my personal Tacoma. The fact I have 12" fullsize subwoofers behind my back seat is incredible. Check out the pictures.
