That’s because these high-performance subwoofers feature SSI™ (Selectable Smart Impedance), an exclusive impedance switch that lets you select the optimum impedance—2 or 4 ohms—providing multiple system configurations and flexibility. A special aero-cooling design keeps the voice coil cool even at high output levels. This feature coupled with oversized voice coils increases power handling and ensures long-term reliability. More power, more reliability, more flexibility—and no compromises. When you’re ready to step up, Stadium is your subwoofer.
The Stadium’s voice coil significantly increases power handling and improves reliability by going with the flow—of air. The woofer’s motor channels air pumped by the cone movement past the voice coil, and the voice coil former exposes the coil’s inner and outer surfaces to the airflow. This aero-cooling design is unique among aftermarket subwoofers.

I’ve been a JBL fan for years, I have it all, from wireless headphones to 7.2 home theater systems and soundbars, so it’s no surprise that I went with the Stadium 12s for my build. I put one 12 in a custom box at first, sat in storage for 3 years before I finally took it back out, added a second 12 and hooked my NVX 1700.1 amp. This setup hits hard ???????????? well built subs, powerful, sound quality is top notch as usual, carbon fiber cones and factory surrounds are beautiful. Jbl really went in on this one. I’m curious about the Arena X 12s, maybe next year I’ll upgrade ???? don’t tell my wife.
