Flexible Installation and Speaker Compatibility

Location-wise, the Sky-Pod securely fastens to the existing holes on your windshield frame and remains firmly in place, allowing unimpeded use of rear-view mirrors, visors, and both hard and soft tops. You have the flexibility to attach it anywhere along the windshield frame near the factory holes, ensuring that the Sky-Pod speakers project sound towards both the driver and passenger sides. The Sky-Pod accepts most 4” speakers, providing versatility in your audio setup.

Detailed Installation Process for Various Models

Installing the Sky-Pod is a straightforward process. Utilizing the existing footman-loop screw holes and included hardware, the Pod is firmly secured in place using the provided fender washers and screws. The footman-loop is then reattached to the top of the Pod, allowing for the secure installation of a bikini top. In most Wrangler models, installation is simple and does not require any cutting. However, for 2003-2006 Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited models with the plastic windshield trim pieces known as Head Impact Trim, some cutting may be necessary. A rotary cut-out tool or a jigsaw is recommended for these modifications, and detailed instructions are included to guide you through the installation process. For these models, the included trim molding will hide your cut, ensuring a factory appearance.

Speaker Wire Routing and Additional Hardware Details

Most installations in Wranglers involve tucking the wires in the windshield gasket until they reach the roll-bar, then running them under the roll-bar pad and down to the floor to your amplifier or radio. For CJ models, the wires are typically tucked in the windshield gasket until they reach the plastic soft-top piece mounted to the side of the windshield, then through the hole for your wiper motor wires. The Sky-Pod comes with all necessary mounting hardware, poly-fill, and comprehensive installation instructions to facilitate a tidy and efficient setup.
