The Kenwood eXcelon XM160-2-98 is a specialized 2-channel Class D amplifier designed specifically for 1998–2013 Harley-Davidson® touring motorcycles. While it shares the same high-efficiency core as the newer XM160-2, this version is tailored with brackets and wiring harnesses specifically for the older "Batwing" and "Sharknose" fairings found on Pre-Rushmore models like the Electra Glide, Street Glide, and Road Glide.
Its standout feature is its 2-ohm stability, allowing it to deliver a full 80 Watts per channel. This is specifically tuned to match the 2-ohm impedance of the Kenwood XM50F/R speakers, providing a massive volume jump over the stock system. Additionally, it features a proprietary circuit designed to minimize FM radio interference—a common side effect when adding digital Class D amplifiers to motorcycles.
