Great DSP, terrible documentaion for install and use, PC required.
After watching videos and playing with the software I figured it all out, but proper documentaion or at least an explanation of the menus and wring would simplify things. Features, you can use high level inputs, rca inputs, bluetooth, or usb, as main, and a secondary as well. It will eq the inputs, setup an auto eq to do a universal response correction. On top of that you can then setup 6 eq, crossover, level and time alignment presets to your liking. Save all settings in the eq preset menus. Everything except auto eq has to have a pc. I wish the pc mic was included. 31 band parametric eq is infinitely adjustable, as are the crossover settings. You can assign left or right to each channel or both if wanted. The remote does volume, subwoofer level, mute, and change presets. Nose floor is low but audible if you turn the volume up and leave it, you can turn volume up on head unit and leave it and use the Alpine volume control and lower noise to inaudible. Overall this is superflexible, can even be use with no radio, offers easy tuning and setup once you play around with it and it sounds great, much better than the Audiocontrol D Q 61 I was using. I currently have mine set up using 2 channels for 3inch mid, tweeter, 2 channels for midrange, and 2 for subs. Jl offers 8 channels but can't use the same unit for factory or aftermarket units, or even just your phone as this Alpine can. The Optim8 setup for 3way fronts, rear fill using the two highpowered channels for midbass and seperate amp for subs would be a great setup if you don't have an amp already, I have a 6 channel and sub amp already so the Optim6 does nicely.
