Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The RGB LEDs require a separate 12V power source. You must wire the integrated LED pigtails to a 12V power supply and a ground. For color control and patterns, we recommend using an RGB LED controller (like the NVX RGB-C1).
Trimming is possible, but ensure there is at least 3.5" of mounting depth and enough flat surface area for the larger 8" footprint. Use the included template to check for internal obstructions like fuel lines or hull supports before cutting.
This usually indicates a wiring error on the RGB pigtails. Check that the Red, Green, and Blue wires are securely connected to your controller. If one wire is loose or grounded incorrectly, that specific color channel will fail to trigger.
These speakers require significant power ($125W$ RMS per speaker). Most factory marine head units only output $15W$-$22W$ RMS, causing "clipping" or distortion. To get clean sound, you should power these with a dedicated marine amplifier.
Since gaskets aren't included, apply a thin bead of marine-grade silicone sealant or high-quality closed-cell foam tape (like NVX SDGK4) to the mounting surface before screwing the speaker down to prevent water from leaking into the hull.
