Why choose the NVX VE-GM-SLVECG2-D12S enclosure instead of a universal box?

This dual 12" enclosure is custom-contoured for 2008–2013 Silverado/Sierra Extended Cabs. Its down-firing design utilizes 1.25 cu. ft. of optimized airspace under the rear seat, providing maximum output without sacrificing passenger legroom.

I placed the box in position, but it feels loose. How do I secure it?

Ensure it is seated flush against the seat riser. To prevent sliding, apply NVX SDRLR20 sound deadening to the floor. This adds a layer of grip and eliminates panel resonance, ensuring the enclosure stays locked in place during driving.

I’m hearing a whistling or air-leak sound after installing my subwoofer. What could cause this?

Air is likely escaping from the terminal cup or the sub-mounting flange. Use NVX SBP12 gasket foam tape to ensure a 100% airtight seal. This is critical for maintaining the high pressure needed for deep bass in a sealed enclosure.

I installed everything but there is no sound from the subwoofer. What should I check?

Check the internal binding post connections. If you have a factory MyLink or Bose system, use the NVX XPLOC2 Line Output Converter to ensure a clean, strong audio signal is being sent from your factory wires to your amplifier.

The enclosure fits the space, but my trunk floor panel doesn’t close. What should I do?

In the Silverado, ensure the rear seat is fully clicked down. This enclosure has a 5.75" mounting depth; if the seat won't lock, your 12" subs are too tall. Use shallow-mount drivers like the NVX SMW12D4 to ensure the seat frame clears.

My subwoofer is working, but the bass sounds weak or hollow. How can I improve it?

Check for phase cancellation; reverse the (+) and (-) wires on one sub. To improve the low-end "warmth" in this 1.25 cu. ft. box, add Polyfil inside the chambers to simulate a larger volume and smooth out the frequency response.

Is there a pre-loaded version of this custom-fit enclosure available to make installation easier?

Yes! The LVE-GM-SLVECG2-D12S is the pre-loaded version. It comes with two 12" NVX subwoofers already installed and wired to 1-ohm, providing a perfectly tuned 800W RMS "drop-in" bass solution specifically for your 2008–2013 GM.
