This is usually due to a misaligned voice coil. Use the provided plastic shims to ensure the coil is perfectly centered in the motor gap before the adhesive sets. For a seamless repair, always use high-strength NVX cyanoacrylate glue.
Yes. Any leftover residue will prevent the new kit from sealing correctly. Use a scraper and isopropyl alcohol to get a smooth surface. A clean bond ensures your NVX XCW122 returns to its original high-output performance.
Scratching usually means debris is stuck in the magnet gap or the coil is rubbing. Before installing the kit, use folded masking tape to "fish" out any metal shards from the gap. Using genuine NVX parts ensures the tolerances match perfectly.
Let the adhesives cure for at least 24 hours at room temperature. Rushing this can cause the spider or surround to shift. For the best results, use NVX professional-grade adhesives designed for high-excursion subwoofers.
This will cause a short or rattling. Ensure the tinsel leads have a "U" shaped slack and are soldered securely to the terminals. If your terminals are damaged, consider upgrading to NVX heavy-duty speaker wire for a more stable connection.
