How do I ensure the spider is sitting flat during the curing process?

Ensure the spider sits flat and centered to avoid coil rub. Use light weights or a centering tool while curing. Rubberized contact cement or epoxy is best; CA glue works but can be brittle.

I finished the recone, but I'm getting no sound at all. What’s wrong?

Check your solder joints at the terminal. If the protective coating on the tinsel leads wasn't sanded off before soldering, the signal won't pass. For a more reliable connection, use NVX silver-solder and high-purity oxygen-free copper wire.

The surround is wrinkling when I press it down. How can I fix this?

Wrinkling occurs if the cone isn't centered. Remove the kit, re-shim the voice coil, and press the surround from the center outward. Using NVX-specific shims ensures the XCW121RC kit aligns perfectly with the sub’s internal motor structure.
