it's free i guess
I've used this kit twice now as sonic electronics sent it free with the CD players I've ordered. the first time the I used it, the face plate wouldn't stay on and the second, was absolutely useless. I couldn't even use it to hold my CD player in place. it's one thing to get it free but if you have to pay. I would defiantly spend the extra 10 or 20 dollars to get an installation dash kit that's not going to make you want to pull you hair out.

Installation kit
The trim ring did not fit my Ranger 2010. I had to whittle it down with a knife and it still doesn't look so hot. The side pieces fit exactly. Installation was pretty easy.

Came free with a pioneer stereo I bought, I can't get the outside trim peice on without it being in the way when I change cds, so I left it off.

mounting kit
This kit was easy to intall. I installed this on a 2004 ford ranger . My new radio was a double din jvc radio. Installing the radio was a little bit difficult. double din radio doesnt fit in this truck with out trimming the top and bottom all the way down. think the factory radio is like a din and a half.

Nice fit.
2003 F-250 Super Duty. Pieces attached to the Jensen VM9226BT and it slid into the dash perfectly....after trimming the top, sides and bottom of the stock dash radio opening....a Dremel tool and about 10 minutes careful cutting was all it took. Trim facia does not fit to the side mounting plates too tightly, so a couple dabs of RTV were needed to hold it secure.

Didn't Need it
This came free with the stereo but I ended up only using the U-bracket that fit on the stereo track rail. The other parts weren't used.
