Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The 0-gauge power wire is too large for my amplifier's terminals. How do I connect it?

Do not trim the copper strands to fit a smaller hole, as this creates a fire hazard. You must use 1/0 to 4-gauge wire reducers or the included distribution block. This ensures the full current reaches your amp without overheating.

My amplifier is in "Protect Mode" after installing this 0-gauge kit. What’s wrong?

This is usually a ground fault. Even with 0-gauge wire, if the ground is bolted to paint or a loose seat bolt, the amp will starve for power. Sand your chassis to bare, shiny metal and ensure the ground wire is under 3ft long.

I’m getting massive "alternator whine" in my speakers. How do I fix this?

Because 0-gauge carries high current, it creates a large magnetic field. Ensure your RCA signal cables are run on the opposite side of the vehicle. If they must cross the power wire, they should do so at a 90-degree angle.

How do I safely pass this thick 0-gauge wire through the firewall?

Never force this wire through a factory grommet, as the metal can slice the jacket and cause a dead short. Use a step-drill bit to create a 3/4" hole and install a plastic or rubber snap-in bushing to protect the wire from the metal.

The ANL fuse holder is getting hot or melting. Is the fuse defective?

Heat is caused by resistance from a loose connection, not the fuse itself. Use a hex key to tighten the set screws on both sides of the fuse holder as hard as possible. If the wire can wiggle, it will generate heat and melt the casing.

This is a nice wiring kit no doubt about it. Very sturdy and flexible, easy to work with. It is definitely true 1/0 cable and seems to be pushing the Hifonics BRX2000 amp I have with more than enough power. Rca's are also pretty nice and seem to be working as stated (no feedback or humming). I also like the fact that the battery side of the power cable is pre-sleeved and has the ring terminal already installed for you with heat shrinks as well. Same on the ground cable. Over all its a nice kit, might be a little pricey compared to other kits, but you pay for quality. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Fine Wire

Wires seem accurate. They transfer plenty power but I do have to upgrade battery to turn amp up more only running it at .25(1/4) and even then my lights dim front to back.

I got this kit to wire a boss 2600 watt amp. The wires were huge there was no way I could run it to my amp. The quality was so great that instead of returning it I used it to upgrade my battery cables and my chassis ground. I only wish it came with more ground wire as I need a few more feet to finish my chassis ground upgrade.
