Great solution

After the mother board on my head unit went out, it not only affected my stereo but my ac controls. Finding a replacement OEM dash kit was 600 + and would still leave me without a stereo. FINALLY although skeptical at the price as it was much lower than many other sites i decided to go ahead and purchase this metra kit from Sonic. It was a great solution and I am very happy with the quality of the product and speed of the shipment.

Ok, since there are no other options

Like others have mentioned the dash kit gets the job done but that's about it. Final fit is not good, especially at the top of the dash kit, directions are fine for removing the old dash but there is very little for reassembly and they don't even mention the best way to line up the stereo with the double din space, mine is lined up close enough but not perfect for sure. It works but it is not an ideal solution. All in all I'm glad I replaced the factory head unit but I wish there were some other reasonable options out there besides this kit.

It is a very useful product for older models of cars Mazda 6. I recommend to all who would like replaced old radio.

Metra needs to redesign this product

This dash kit looks good once it's installed. Install was a pain due to the fact that the mounting brackets provided don't match up with the car or the radio. The original dash kit was also screwed in but the Metra just snaps into place. The kit is also raised up and sticks out from the rest of the dash. Not pleased with Metra but Sonic electronix is the best place to get any car audio!

Just acceptable quality and overpriced, but no other option.

This kit took longer than expected to install. The finish looks ok but doesn't have the glossy, smooth feel of the original. It feel slightly rough, not what I had in mind for the money I paid. It requires you to switch over a lot of small components from your stock unit. Also the air vents are stiff to move, even when tightened halfway. The opening is a hair too small, but just enough for my Pioneer double din. Lining it up flush and getting the kit to snap into place was the hardest part. With everything in place and screwed down, its pretty secure. The middle flexes a little because the stereo is straight across and the shape of the kit is slightly rounded. Nothing u can do about that. In my opinion, for Metra to charge $200 for some plastic... is a rip off! Ive never paid this much for a kit. This is one of the only options for us Mazda owners. So that's why they can charge so much. It does what it does but price should be more like $100. In this case you don't really get what you paid for. You pay more than what should be.

Music to my ears!

My stereo went out in my Mazda 6 and I wanted to keep the speakers that came stock, they sound good. But I found out I needed to change out the face plate my new stereo'd sit in and I sure didn't like the prices out there. I found a really good price and fast service here. The product arrived very fast plus it came with everything needed to get sounds going once again in about a couple hours. Great deal, fast shipping, two thumbs up. Thank you!

Perfect Fit

This product was a perfect fit since Mazda 6 setup calls for a complete dash kit change to install another radio instead of factory equipment.

Great kit, looks good. Overall not much you could complain about. I think there may be.some minor difference between Australian and American models as it took a lot of fiddling before it got a good fit.
But definitely cannot complain. Have only heard people say it looks great since I installed it!

Best option for what's out there...

Great product. Too expensive for what it is, doesn't seal flush with the rest of the dash. Looks good though and does it job. Even has the wires for the steering wheel control just have to buy the box separate witch I had ordered through Amazon and just had to plug in. Overall best kit but like I said its to expensive! Should be sold for less than $100!
