The XS808 series speakers utilize advanced materials and design techniques to ensure both outstanding sound quality and long lasting life. Wet Sounds designed the Salt Water speakers' frames and grills using their exclusive Nylas™ technology. Nylas™ is a composite mix of Nylon and Fiberglass which provides greatly improved marine stability and strength over your typical marine speaker.
Taking durability and speaker life to the next level, Wet Sounds specially designed a rubber spider. Traditional marine speakers utilize a cloth spider which will deteriorate over time. This marine resistant spider was engineered to ensure your marine speakers last more than a season or two in your boat.
Most marine coaxial speaker tweeters use the pole piece mount design which can allow water to drip down into the speaker cone and damage the speaker. The XS-808-S speakers feature a unique design which allows the tweeter to either be coaxially mounted in the center of the grill or mounted separately from the speaker with the included flush and surface mount tweeter housings.
