Engineered specifically for limited-space marine applications, the MHX300/1 monoblock amplifier employs our high-speed NexD™ switching design to pack a serious punch, while still being kind to small charging systems. Its ultra-compact, cast aluminum chassis is highly resistant to corrosion, with an IPX6 water-resistance rating, making it ideal for applications where moisture would prohibit use of a conventional 12V amplifier.
Producing a robust 300W of clean power into a 2-ohm load (14.4V, 1% THD), the MHX300/1 full-range, monoblock amplifier can be used alone or in stereo pairs. Use one to drive a subwoofer, or grab a pair to deliver stunning output to a subwoofer system or full-range satellites. Onboard controls include an adjustable low-pass crossover, a bass boost EQ, variable infrasonic filter and output polarity switch. Its dual-range input section accepts a wide range of input voltage levels, from line-level all the way to high-power speaker level signals. With the addition of an M-RBC-1 remote level control (sold separately), subwoofer output can be directly controlled from the driver's seat. This marine amplifier features a white powder-coated finish, a gasketed cover for the controls and stainless steel hardware for durability in the marine environment.
The JL Audio MHX300/1 is clearly designed to be as small as possible without sacrificing the quality and performance we all expect from a JL Audio product. At 1.77" x 3.09" x 8.66" the JL Audio MHX300/1 is one of the smallest amplifiers on the market. When compared to its small footprint, the engineering is extraordinary considering the amp is equipped with a proper bank of settings - including a 24 dB per octave filter slope - and true full range frequency response (20 Hz - 12,000 Hz) . Putting the 'nerdy' figures aside, and you still have an amplifier that put outs solid modest power for any sized setup - 160 W @ 4Ω , 220 W @ 3Ω , & 300 W @ 2Ω.
JL Audio have taken the simple fixed PWM approach - found in almost all common amplifiers - and enhanced it with a very high switching frequency: 400 kHz, which is exponentially higher than most Class D Full-range amplifiers. This pushes the amplifier's bandwidth to a much higher frequency than seen before, and still provide minimal distortion and improved efficiency, while keeping typically bulky circuity more compact. Your speakers will reward you with crisp, clear performance. The bottom line is simply great audio: clean, powerful and reliable.
