Sonic Electronix is now carrying the brand new line of Rockford Fosgate Prime Series Car Audio Subwoofers. The R2SD4-10 10" subwoofer has a peak power rating of 400 watts and a continuous RMS power rating of 200 watts giving you a comfortable amount of bass when installing one or some real deep bass when installing more than one. This shallow mount subwoofer is ideal for those with limited space but that still want a system that kicks. Equipped with anodized aluminum voice coil formers for extreme heat dissipation, will allow this sub to perform at optimum level during long hard hitting sessions. Perfect for sealed or ported enclosures the R2SD4-10 is the way to go when looking for Prime performance with an affordable price tag.
By using an anodized aluminum voice coil former on their subwoofers, Rockford Fosgate is able to dissipate heat from the voice coil more efficiently. A hot voice coil can melt the adhesive bonds, which will lead to eventual subwoofer failure. The aluminum voice coil former acts as a heat-sink to dissipate thermal build-up on the voice coil cool during high SPL conditions.
Rockford Fosgate has built this subwoofer to conform to the CEA-2031 loudspeaker power handling industry standards. This means that you can trust the subwoofer to have the capacity to safely handle the continuous (RMS) power rating. Having a CEA-2031 power handling is important when matching a subwoofer to an amplifier because the power ratings are accurate.
To improve the reliability and performance by reducing fatigue and possible shorting, Rockford Fosgate has stitched the tinsel leads to the spider. The multipoint periodic stitching lead wires reduce the mass of the tinsel leads to spread the stress over a greater area. This improves the reliability and performance of the subwoofer.

Great buy!
Good sound for the money. I didn't want a stereo to rattle windows and that's what I got. It hits hard on lows for a shallow mount ten running a 500 watt alpine amp it pushes them to hard but they're not made to handle as much power as it produces once tuned right I believe anyone would be happy with this product. I'd buy again!

Love It
I was looking for a small amount of bass without taking up much room. I installed one of these in a custom sealed box with polyfil in the back of my Toyota Supra. The bass is very clean which I expected, but I did not expect it to get as loud or as low as it does! Really gets down for a shallow 10. Nice product.

Excellent product
This is a top quality product and has made a world of difference in my e46. I needed something that provided noticeable bass but wanted to limit the boot space lost. This also fits nicely into the ski pass when the box was mounted. I would highly recommend.

No space? Get this sub
Bought the DVC 10" sub, built a box that fit under the rear seat of my avalanche. Due to having limited space, the box just barely met Rockford's minimum cu.ft. recommendation. I was pleasantly surprised. Hits much harder, smoother, and cleaner than a factory Bose system. Just what I wanted. It won't go as low as a bigger sub, but I am not disappointed at all.

Great, perfect fit.
Read online about putting these in the rear deck of my M5 replacing the stock sub box. Using the stock amplifier . Amazed at the result and the price cannot be beat. If you are considering a bass upgrade to your E39 keeping the DSP I highly recommend these subs for that.
