Why should I choose the NVX LVE-GM-SLVECG2-S12S custom loaded enclosure instead of a universal box?

Universal boxes won't fit the tight floor contour of the 2008-2013 Silverado/Sierra Extended Cab. This enclosure is CNC-machined to fit perfectly under the rear passenger seat, providing 400W RMS of bass without taking up footwell space.

Why should I buy this sealed enclosure instead of a ported version?

The 2008-2013 GM Extended Cabs have very shallow under-seat clearance. This sealed design provides the 0.50 cu. ft. needed for tight, accurate bass. A ported version would be too tall, interfering with the seat bench and compromising passenger comfort.

Will the carpet finish get damaged if liquid is spilled on it?

The automotive-grade carpet is durable, but standing liquid can swell the 3/4" MDF. To safeguard your box from spills or wet gear, we recommend installing an NVX all-weather floor mat to keep the mounting area underneath the seat dry.

Will my rear seat functionality be compromised after installing this enclosure?

No, the rear seat retains its full folding and locking capability. To ensure the down-firing 12" sub doesn't rattle against the metal floor, we suggest applying NVX SD126 sound deadening to the floor pan to eliminate mechanical noise.

Can I add more polyfill inside the enclosure?

Yes, adding polyfill can help the 12" SMW sub "see" a slightly larger volume, smoothing out the low-end. To maintain a clean signal for this deeper bass, use NVX XIV25 V-Series RCA cables to ensure a noise-free feed from your head unit.

Will the enclosure get damaged from subwoofer vibrations?

The box is built with high-density MDF and bonded with aliphatic wood glue to handle 400W RMS without flexing. To isolate the driver and prevent vibrations between the box and floor, we suggest using NVX silicone speaker baffles.

Is there an empty or unloaded version of this custom-fit enclosure available so I can install my own subwoofer?

Yes, the VE-GM-SLVECG2-S12S is the unloaded version. It features a 4.75" mounting depth, though the loaded L-version is recommended as the air volume is specifically tuned for the pre-installed NVX shallow-mount 12" driver.
