SM8 Review
I just purchased two SM8 from Sonic and I have to say I was first impressed with the service. I did not have to pay extra shipping to receive this product in a few days. When I first opened the speaker I was impressed with the weight and the way the speaker looked. I purchased only two at first to see how they would sound since I plan on running a total of 4 more SM8's in my Mitsubishi. I am building a custom wall followed by 1 18” FI Blt and two Soundstream SST-05 tweets. I need something that will be able to be heard above the 18" otherwise it will sound like crap IMO. It must be loud! Lows are great, but if you can't hear the words then whats the point? I quickly built a tester box that was sealed to see how they would sound in the car. Wow! These speakers can get extremely loud! I can see how these speakers, once I place them in a better enclosure, they will get even louder with some tight bass. These things can kick. Very tight bass. Now remember this review is only based on 1 time testing with a tester box build in thirty minutes and I am sold! They are 8 Ohms so as long as you wire them correctly you should not have any issues. First time with Soundstream and will not be the last. These things can scream! I highly recommend using these speakers if you plan on going pro audio style!
