Why should I choose a sealed enclosure like the NE102S over its ported counterpart (NE102P)?

NE102S is better for audiophiles who want a tight but not forceful bass. Like other sealed enclosures, NE102S is quite smaller so it would save some space in your car. However, if you really want an earth-shattering low-end, go ahead with NE101P instead.

Why should I buy a dual enclosure like the NE102S over two single enclosures for my two 10" subwoofers?

A dual enclosure ensures both subs share the same physical footprint, preventing them from sliding around independently. It makes installation and wire routing significantly easier than manually have two boxes.

Will two high-excursion 10" subs with a massive magnet hit the back panel of NE102S?

Most likely not. For example, the NE102S has a generous mounting depth of up to nearly 14 inches. That’s enough clearance for even the beefiest competition-grade magnets to breathe without slamming against the rear wall.

Can I add more Polyfill to the NE102S?

We don't recommend. NVX includes just enough to help the box act about 15-20% larger sound-wise. Adding too much can actually choke the sub's movement. Only add more if your sub's specs significantly exceed the box's actual internal volume.

What’s with the choice to build NE102P with rounded corners?

It’s for durability and fitment. Sharp MDF corners under carpet are prone to bruising or chipping during installation. Rounded edges prevent the carpet from tearing and make it much easier to slide the box into tight trunk gaps.

NICE BASIC BOX, BUT.......

I BOUGHT TWO NVX 10 INCH SUBS, SO I DECIDED TO JUST BUY THIS BASIC BOX CONSIDERING THE SPECS MATCH UP, AND ITS THE SAME BRAND AS THE SUBS. GOT THE BOX AND SPEAKERS ON THE SAME DAY, WENT TO INSTALL THE SUBS INTO THE BOX, AND THEY DON'T FIT. WHAT!? THE HOLE IS NOT BIG ENOUGH FOR THE SUBS TO SIT FLUSH, THEY WOULD NEED TO BE ROUTED OR CUT TO BE BIGGER. NORMALLY THATS NOT AN ISSUE, BUT I BOUGHT THESE SPECIFICALLY AND DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO DO THIS WHEN THEY CLEARLY SHOULD HAVE FIT. SONIC WAS COOL ABOUT THE RETURN AND GAVE ME NO ISSUES AT ALL. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ALIVE!

Not bad for the money.

The following review is for a previous version (XMDFS102).

I really didn't feel like making a new box so decided to order one. For the money it's not terrible, however it was only sealed in corners that are easily seen. All the corners need to be sealed on the front side of the box which I did.
The connectors are functional but wouldn't recommend if you want to push a lot of power since they have small connections inside the box.
After the fixes and modifications to the connectors I'm happy, mostly cause I have a decent box without building it myself.
