This potent 2-Channel amplifier employs JL Audio's high-speed NexD switching design to achieve unprecedented efficiency and amazing power output in an ultra-compact chassis. Don't let the small size fool you, though... this amplifier is capable of serious power, delivering a full 200W of continuous power into a 4 ohm load (14.4V, 1% THD) Bridged. Targeted specifically for an audiophile-grade subwoofer or two satellite system, the M200/2 includes a variable mode low-pass/high-pass filter with a continuously variable cutoff frequency selection from 50-500 Hz.

With the addition of an HD-RLC remote level control (sold separately), you can control the volume of one, two or all three channel pairs of the M600/6v2 from the front of the vehicle or boat. This amplifier features white and gray powder-coat finishes, a gasketed cover for the controls and stainless steel hardware for durability in the marine environment.

Advanced Rollback Protection

JL Audio's signature Advanced Thermal Rollback protection system eliminates annoying thermal shutdown events to keep the music playing, even under the most demanding conditions. Should the amplifier reach an unsafe operating temperature, a special circuit rolls back peak power output, without changing gain, until the amplifier cools down to a safe operating temperature. The red "Thermal" LED will light to indicate this condition has been reached. Once the amplifier cools down, the circuit restores full peak power output and the red "Thermal" indicator reverts to its normal state. The operation of Advanced Rollback Protection is inaudible in most cases.

NexD Switching Technology

From the same minds that gave us the technology found in the 'Slash' amplifiers, JL Audio has taken the simple fixed PWM design approach and enhanced it with a very high switching frequency. Full-range NexD amplifiers and channels feature a variable, ultra-high speed version of the NexD technology (switching at well over 400 kHz). In these designs, a self-oscillating modulator with "feed-forward" sends information about the instantaneous power supply voltage to the modulator, combining this with the input signal to cancel out any distortion due to supply voltage fluctuation. This reduces distortion prior to applying feedback, simplifying the overall feedback loop design.

Great product

Nice small size, good quality sound output... huge step forward in class "D" design. I have this mounted in my Polaris RZR to power a pair of 6x9's in the overhead fiberglass box. It is often splashed by water, and the sealed design of the controls will be very beneficial.
I dropped one star in Features and Value, because the amp doesn't have a signal sensing auto turn-on. With ipod's becoming the norm for marine source applications, remote turn-on leads and ignition switches should not be counted on for this type of amplifier installation.

Great Small Marine Amp

I mounted this between the front shock towers in an ATV. The only modification to the amp was sealing the inputs in silicone to keep connections clean and avoid shorting. It's not an ideal location for equipment but I'm very limited in install locations and really wanted to hide it. It's worked amazing. It pushes my custom 5.25" 4 ohm pods to their limit. The amp has held up to tremendous abuse going through water, mud and exposed to extreme temperatures and have seen no issues at all. I'd give it 10 stars for durability if I could. It's expensive but I had tried similar cheaper amps which didn't last and I knew JL makes a great product so I'm happy I finally spent the money.
