Keeps blowing me away more and more!
This sub just keeps hitting harder and lower! I'm amazed and blown away! I was underwhelmed for a while there because I realized that I actually killed my previous sub by sending a very strong and very clipped signal to it by having the gain set too high for my head unit's preamp voltage. To reach the ~250W RMS the amp is rated for with my head unit, I need the gain knob LESS than half way up. Any more than that and it starts distorting, and this is not because of the sub but because I'M SENDING A CLIPPED SIGNAL FROM MY AMP. I feel like I've officially made that step from n00b to experienced installer. I had read all the instructions and guides before and never understood what they meant by matching the head unit's preamp voltage. Now I do and I know how not to kill a sub (and/or amp, for that matter).
Anyway, I had never broken in a sub and this sub is STILL blowing me away! It's hitting harder and it does better throughout the entire range. The lower notes (centered in the mid to high 30Hz range) I could barely feel at the start are now making the car have a slow, deep vibration when they hit (remember it's a sealed box). Being a 400W sub I feel like playing it full-blast at 250W RMS is good enough as 'breaking it in' and it is just finally beginning to impress me. It's hitting almost as hard as the Memphis sub that was getting a clipped signal with a few extra watts to compensate for my bass-trap trunk (thick leather seats, kills any bass trying to come from right behind you). Right now I'm keeping my rear seat's backrest down so I can feel the full effect of the sub.
I just can't wait to give it 400W. OMG. What a great sub. If 'you get what you pay for' is true 99% of the time, the HFX12D4 is the 1%, by far!

I just bought this, and installed it in my 2000 accord. Don't be fooled by the price, this thing kicks. I hooked it up to my Pioneer GM-5500T amp putting out around 400 watts RMS. This sub sounds great so far.

These subwoofers really hit hard for the price. Probably one of the best I have ever bought. We'll see how long they last.

I've had these subs two of them hooked up to a crunch 1500 powerzone amp in a sealed box and they bump!! I've had them for two weeks and still working great! I had a previous set of subwoofers that hit great lows and I'd say that these subs don't hit great lows but they hit really crisp mids and highs :) I love them either way at great price I don't mind I'll probably get a third 12 that mainly hits great lows to even out :)

Good sub for moderate power systems. Doesn't like peak power tho. Went thro 2 of them with 750 watts max. If your going to dump some power into your system (+1000 wats), subs are not the place to save some $$.

They actually sound good yet they're so inexpensive. I'm only using a 520 RMS amp and they bump, I can hear them from inside my house. A must if you're looking for some bang with out going broke.

I bought two of these and I installed them in my Honda Civic. Have them wired at 4 ohms and they rock my little Honda. I don't even have them in a ported box. I've had them for a month. The only downside are the wiring terminals.
