Powerful little amp! Gets pretty warm though.....
Okay this is a long review, but i like to study electronics before I buy them so I'm going to try to give a helpful over-all review here for the other people like me. I bought this amp to put in my fiances car. 1992 Toyota Corolla. Between my dad and I, we have owned every model of this Pioneer GM series two channel amp. This is by far the loudest. The wattage ratings for it are definitely accurate. I have it paired with a Pioneer TS-W310S4 (1,400 watts max and 400 rms) running 4 ohms bridged @ 450 watts rms in a vented Belva enclosure. I have installed many stereo systems for family and friends and i am a bit of a car audio enthusiast. This little amp is LOUD. it says it runs 450 watts rms bridged and I know it does every bit of that. I have had Pioneer, Kenwood, and Hifonics amps. I currently have a Hifonics BRX1100.1D running two Kenwood KFC-W3013PS subs running 2 ohms @ 800 watts rms in the back of a 2001 Chevy Impala. This little set up in my fiances car is just as loud as my set up. With the back seat down in her car, its even louder than mine. This amp is very precise and loud with no signal clip or distortion. Beware though, it WILL get hot running it hard for a while. It has no cooling fan. That's why I gave it four stars in some places. I haven't had it kick into protect yet though. Even when it gets hot it doesn't lose power like my Kenwood amp did. I have always been a firm believer in Pioneer products. I replaced all the factory speakers and head unit in both our cars with Pioneer products. Even added some pioneer Tweeters In both cars so the full range would be just as loud as the low frequencies. Over all, you can't go wrong with this amp or any Pioneer products. Sonics low prices and very fast shipping is just icing on the cake.

Worked great in my application, always have had good experience with Alpine products. The dual voice coil configuration makes it easy to order what you need to run your subs at 2 ohms.

Alpine has never let me down. This subwoofer hits extremely hard. I have one powered by an alpine mrv-m500 wired at 4 ohms in a ported box. The amp is only at the normal output power setting and that's all I need. This sub is a great buy for anyone who wants the perfect amount of bass to not drown out the music completely. Don't get me wrong though, this sub is capable of doing that if you want it to.

This speaker was second choice in regards of finding one that had high temp voice coils. I hooked it up to class d autotek1500d and dropped ohms to 1. I broke it in over three weeks and then as soon as she started banging good, it blew. It had great sound but maybe sealed box and hot summer day banging didn't go well? Either way can't really be mad it was good just not good enough for my application. Vented boxes keep speakers cooler just don't have that tight low I like so if you like sealed set up then get something that can handle the heat!

I couldnt say enough good things about these subs. Extremely satisfied with all alpime products, especially the type S subs.

I had just replaced 4 10" orion cobalt subwoofers in a 5 cubic foot box ported at 45hertz. with a sws12d2 subwoofer in a 1.5 cubic foot L vented wedge box tuned at 35.1 hertz. this thing hits as hard as my old 4 orion 10" and hits as low as the 4 10". for the price of this sws you get more then your money's worth!!! this sub slams hard in my hatch back!!! I've been thinking bout getting a sws15d2. don't get me wrong the 12 is loud n hits low. but im a bass head!!!! to the fullest!!!

I have owned two of these both have broken on me. Thee first was my fault and the second was a factory issue but would not honor warrenty. They sounded awesome when they worked. I had only one hooked up at a time in a ported box with a alpine mrv500 amp.
