General Features

Security System Type
This indicates whether the product is a security car alarm product, remote start module, or a combo unit that offers security with remote start features.

Security: This means that the car alarm system is just that. No bells and whistles, just a car alarm system.

The remote start system supplies the vehicle with power and simulates a start just as if you were inside using the key. Select vehicles require additional accessories or immobilizer/bypass modules to use the remote start feature.
Keyless Entry
Keyless entry allows you to remotely lock, unlock, and open the trunk of a vehicle if that is equipped with power door lock motors (actuators) and power truck motor (solenoid). Door lock controls via the remote are found on nearly all of today's car alarms.

Not really the way they describe it.

October 1, 2014

I bought this a few weeks ago and I am kinda disappointed. First of all, they say UP TO 1 mile. I understand it is not 1 mile but this think won't work even in 2 blocks radius. That is not such a big of a deal, but the problem is that sometimes you try to start the car, the orange led tells you that it didn't and then if you wanna try again, the remote tells you that you actually just turned off the car. Which means that the remote started the car but it tells you it didn't. Basically sometimes even if you start the car, you won't know. I should have bought one with the screen. At least you see there that it is on or not and for how many minutes. Not with this one.

Quality of unit is good. I've done hundreds of alarms and remote starts in my almost 30 years experience. Not a bad unit. Tad overpriced. Pain in the butt to set all the million features without the bitwriter. Come defaulted in manual transmission mode so be sure flip that to automatic. All in all a good unit but for this money it should be a LCD remote. Didn't really care for the LED's. Ordered cause that's what the customer wanted. He bough two and based on the 1 Mile range which it does not do. Maybe line of sight it will but not aiming it in the parking lot. For this money I wished I got him the autopage.

Does this come with the bypass immobilizer?
Katherine on Dec 23, 2014
Best Answer: Hello Katerine,

No; This is why it is the first thing suggested in the Description (Read: "Make sure you have....") . Use the link below to establish which bypass is required; If it suggests the DBALL2 , then that is the bypass you seek.

Has anyone installed this to Honda civic 2014?
A shopper on Sep 11, 2014
Best Answer: it will work on a honda civic 2014 and even 2015, keep in mind an immobilizer is required as your key is chipped, this will learn the code of your key and allow the car to start each every time.

Which transmitter or equipment do I need to buy with this for installation ?
shwet r on Nov 15, 2014
Best Answer: Kind of an interesting question... are you going to do this install yourself, or have a shop do it? The 2 pictured remotes come with the unit. If you looking to put it in a car, you need to investigate if you need an Immobilzer Bypass unit (which you can buy here also, but you need to know the part number). If you're trying to install this yourself, you will need various install tools and parts. Not sure where you were going with the question.

Viper 4806V
Python 4206
Python 4206
Best Answer: Hello,

To be fair, the two systems (4806V vs 4206P) use the Exact same 'Brain' .

So overall/general features, reliability, use, etc.. are going to be more or less identical. With that said, we would be partial to the Viper Responder LE 4806V because we have had GREAT luck with the Viper 7856V (OEM Remote) and it provides outstanding range.

In regards to the Bypass, we aren't going to get into what it is (do a quick search for info) but we can give you the link to figure out if you vehicle Needs one. If the fit guide below suggests the XpressKit DBALL2 , then That is the bypass your vehicle will need to access the REMOTE START feature. The bypass MUST be taken to an AUTHORIZED Directed/Viper/Python/etc.. Installer to have it programmed with your vehicle specific firmware.

Does it work with manual transmission?
A shopper on Nov 30, 2015
Best Answer: Additional note, the risks that are involved with doing an install in manual tranmissions is far less of a risk than it used to be. Now days there is an involved sequence you do when getting out of the vehicle to insure it is in neutral. It's not a perfect method, it can be circumvented, but that's your own fault if you mess with it. Basically the system now forces you to exit the vehicle with it running and lock the doors. This shuts down the remote start and arms the car. IF at any point a door/hood/trunk is opened. Remote start is disabled. You have to do the sequence all over again to be able to remote start again. Head over to viper and read the free online owners manual for the system. It explains clearly the process for getting out of a manual transmission vehicle. Yes it is possible, yes it is safe, much safer than it used to be.

has anyone installed this system on 2010 F150?
A shopper on Aug 27, 2014
Best Answer: I've put this in a 07 Expedition. I imagine most of the wiring is the same, however, my truck didn't need the immobilizer (key) bypass module. Your's may. I don't think I used one extra relay either. Not sure if you already found your wiring diagram, but check a few places on the net (I've found a few links that have that data).

who does installation of the remote car starters you sell? I am in northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin area
chris k on Nov 27, 2015
Best Answer: We recommend finding a local car audio professional to do the installation. Some of our customers install the remote car starters themselves, but if you don't know what your doing then we highly recommend taking it to a professional. You can use Yelp, Google, or another service to find a reputable professional.
