The original Slash amplifier set new performance standards for automotive amplification and became the best-selling premium mobile amplifier in history. The new Slash v3 amplifier is built on this legendary pedigree and technology platform, enhancing it in a variety of key areas; like radically improved thermal performance, a beautiful new black look with powder-coated cast alloy heat sinks and dozens of tweaks aimed at improving performance, flexibility and reliability. JL Audio's Absolute Symmetry Class A/B output circuit employs identical N-Channel MOSFET transistors for push and pull with true buffering from the load impedance. This is accomplished via a patented circuit that reverses the operation of one of the transistors in each pair to achieve absolute power symmetry and extremely low distortion over a wide range of load impedances. Its these improvements that allow the v3 20% more power than the previous generation amplifiers.
With the proper utilization of the R.I.P.S System, the JL Audio Slash 300/4v3 offers a solid 75 watts RMS per channel at any load between 1.5-Ohms to 4-Ohms with any voltage draw between 11V and 14.5V. To smooth out that power to your liking, the amplifier provides a very complete set of signal processing features, including fully variable crossover filters with selectable crossover modes (Off/LP/HP). There is no magic and no guesswork here... just pure technology, refined to the last detail.
The 300/4v3 employs two separate, but identical filter sections for its front and rear channel pairs. These sections consist of a x1/x10 Frequency Multiplier, 12dB/24db Filter Slope Selector, Crossover Mode Selector, and a Fully Variable Crossover Filter for ultimate control and flexibility. Its this control and flexibility that allows the 300/4v3 to work well for a multitude of system configurations. Whether you wish to run a traditional 4-Channel Setup, an "Active" Full Range System or a Bi-Amplified System the 300/4v3 has the controls necessary to filter out the unwanted harmful frequencies from your signal.
The 300/4v3 employs JL Audio's exclusive Regulated, Intelligent Power Supply (R.I.P.S.) design. This sophisticated power supply allows the amplifier to produce its optimum power (75 watts x 4) over a wide range of speaker impedances. Unlike conventional amplifiers that require a specific impedance to produce optimum power, the R.I.P.S.-equipped 300/4v3 gives you the freedom to use a variety of subwoofer configurations without sacrificing power output or sound quality. The operation of the R.I.P.S. circuitry is entirely automatic and adjusts itself every time the amplifier is turned on according to the lowest impedance present at the speaker load.

decent sound
I bought this amp because i wanted to try a class ab amp rather then then the usual class d amp. I would like to see a conventional power supply rather than the switching supply which it has. I would say the sound is warmer and is a decent full range amp. The lack of an internal fuse can be hazardous to some if a correct external fuse is not in place.

Well built, pricey, lot of features
This amp is solid. It is a bit larger and heavier than I expected. It has all the features I need and delivers on performance. It is a bit overpriced, but you are paying for the JL name.

Very clean
this amp is very clean. well worth every penny. I'm using it to power one pair of hertz hi energy 165xl components. running the tweeters with the active crossover. If you're looking for a class a/b amp that is very clean, has a lot of features, and can deliver all day then this is your amp. I recommend this amp to everyone.
Pros: Audiophile sound quality, plenty of power, great control over sound with many features, runs all day without breaking a sweat.
