The Pioneer Experience Again
I bought this unit due to past experiences with Pioneer, and because of the usb port, cd playing capability, and price. Other than one issue I love my purchase. Two weeks after the install by a professional installer, and seconds after putting my truck in drive and taking off, my subs stopped playing and I immediately suspected the amp-JL Audio XD800/8v2-had stopped functioning. For whatever reason, the audio in signal from the radio for the subs weren't sending a signal to the rca line-in jacks on the amp going to the subs. I switched from 6-channel mode to 4-channel mode on the amp and took the rca-in plugs from the 3/4 linepin jacks and fed the 5/6 rca-in jacks; this allowed all 8-channels on the amp to output to the speakers. I'm not sure if the installer crossed up wires when installing or this is an internal problem with the head-unit. It's playing and sounding good. I using some 6 1/2 Cerwin Vega subs due to not wanting cabin shaking bass; I'm going to go up to 8-inch subs or maybe even 10 for some deeper base. They play well, but not as deep as I like to them.
